Helium Leak Testing

Helium leak testing uses mass spectrometer technology to detect leaks at sensitivities far beyond conventional methods, making it the standard for aerospace, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and industrial gas applications where zero tolerance for leakage is required.

Helium Leak Testing

Helium leak testing is the most sensitive leak detection method available, capable of identifying leaks as small as 10 to the negative 10 mbar·L/s using a mass spectrometer tuned to detect helium as a tracer gas. Because helium is inert, non-flammable, and small at the molecular level, it passes through defects that pressure decay or bubble test methods would miss entirely, making it the method of choice wherever tightness specifications are stringent or safety-critical.

We test fabricated assemblies, weld joints, pressure vessels, piping systems, and precision components across aerospace, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and industrial gas sectors, using vacuum chamber or tracer probe methods depending on the assembly size. All results are fully documented with leak rate data and test parameters for traceability and compliance, and where a leak is found we support repair and retest through to final acceptance.
